How AI-washing is scamming recruiters

AI will reshape recruitment. Ethical, well-researched, properly tested AI will take over much of today’s manual recruiter work while improving accuracy, efficiency and outcomes for clients and candidates. Recruiters who build the new skills will thrive. But much of what’s being sold to agencies today is flawed — sometimes a scam. It’s often not AI at all: just automation built on poor data, unable to understand context, reason, or improve, and riddled with bias, privacy risks, and false promises. Recruiters must run toward the tech — but understand it.

Recruitment rebounds to a 3-year high

This article is simple – but very positive. The past few years have been a grind for many recruiters. Even worse, some recruitment companies have closed, and many individuals moved on to other things. However, the past 12 months have felt slightly better, according to the financial results of my clients (Where I am on […]

Your recruitment business model is dying

My view? AI hasn’t made recruitment easier. In many […]

Does your hairdresser ‘out-recruit’ you?

All the training you have had as a recruiter has been a total waste of time unless the skills and techniques you learnt are built on a foundation of self-belief. You are the expert. Your client may be an Executive Director of a listed company, or the CEO of a multi-national conglomerate, but who knows […]

You talk less to sell better

Most recruiters are good talkers. We do it all day, right? And most recruiters think that ‘selling‘ means ‘pitching’ or ‘persuading’, or ‘spinning’. Having ‘good chat‘ is highly prized. But there is a problem with that. A big one. And it raises its head at the most critical time. And it so often undermines recruiter […]
