Greg, I have not read your Blog for a while but when you speak you hit the nail on the head. In my 12 years of experience in the field, at least 80% of turn over in the industry that I have seen is due to hiring the wrong people. Recruitment is only second to callcentre industry in terms of turn-over and that's because anyone with a pulse can get in and obviously when you have that input, your rate of failure will go significantly higher. With all due respect I disagree with the point you make about them feeling that they stop learning. If anyone in any profession feels they have stopped learning, its mainly their own responsibility rather than company or the industry. I have never worked at a company where managers sat down with me and asked me if I want to learn. I pursued learning, I asked for it and I never stopped learning and to date I am proud to say that I am a student. There is a saying, When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.
